There is a lot more to do, but the heavy lift is finished. Planejammer is now on it’s new servers, hosted locally in Cincinnati by Inexistence. The new masthead and logo by RavensCraft is up, and we are preparing to get our pricing and galleries up.
We will continue to blog about gaming, with a heavy bias towards fantasy space and planar adventuring. However we will also be centralizing the efforts of three creators to bring you a line of commission art and pdf based products.
Let us know what you think of the new look and feel, and certainly please sing out if there is something you would like to see us add!
Wishing you Natural 20s!
Still wobbly after my first GenCon I managed to meet up with the Gamerati himself, Ed Healy. It was a bit of a media exchange, he shot a video of me and then I recorded this interview with him. If you want to understand why gaming is important listen to this conversation.
Interview with Ed Healy, The Gamerati by socialgumbo

Having just returned from GenCon you would think I’ve had my fill of gaming, but the tabletop beckons nonetheless. Here are the details of Tuesday’s events, shamelessly cribbed from theYellow Menace Gamecast (check ‘em out, a local gamer’s podcast from right here in the Queen City):
Ed Healy (Atomic Array, Iron GM) will be in Cincinnati on Tuesday, August 9th to kick off the Gamerati Tour 2011! This is a one-day event to raise awareness about and celebrate gaming; Ed will be hitting two local game stores – Yotta Quest in Mt. Healthy and Gateway Games and More in Eastgate. If you live near Cincy, come on out and help us make this thing a big success…we’re hoping to bring in as many gamers, gamer media personalities, and game professionals as we can.
Better yet, do what you can to spread the word – Ed’s launched a new site athttp://tour.gamerati.com to help promote the tour. Share the link and help us kick this sucker off! The fun starts at 10am at Yotta Quest, with the second event kicking off at Gateway Games at 5pm. Hope to see you all there!
I will be at the YottaQuest event and have a 70/30 shot at being at the Gateway Games event. Hope to see you there. [Transparency: Both Alex at Yellow Menace and Todd who owns Gateway Games are friends. I also assist Todd with the Southwest Ohio Gathering of Gamers.]

Over the history of Dungeons and Dragons there have been many Campaign Settings introduced. I remember the deluge of boxed sets that hit the market in my high school and college years – Ravenloft, Planescape, Spelljammer, box after box of Greyhawk or Forgotten Realms materials – each one presenting another new world to play in.
Many of these settings have not been supported by the company for years, but were handed over to the custodianship of the fans. With special permission from WotC there is a website for each of these and development continues, driven by the community. I know, I’ve helped manage one of them for seven years.
With Google+ exploding onto the digital landscape I thought a list of those using it who have acted as Keepers of the Flame for their settings would be a good resource. The result is this list (one which I will keep adding to as more of us make it onto Google+). I hope you find it useful! (If you know of someone I missed please leave a comment so I can add them.)

You can blame @JediSoth for and @ExaltedDarkness on Twitter for this post. They thought it should be shared.
Six years ago the ENnies had completely dropped off my radar. I had spent months in rallying support for Planewalker.com as we made our bid and apprehensively crossed our fingers. Then Hurricane Katrina struck and the levees failed shortly thereafter. Like all New Orleanians I had far more pressing matters on my mind than any award, no matter how coveted and prestigious.
My wife, then fiancee, and I were in exile and without resources. With little more than our five cats and a laptop we were forced to bounce from one borrowed roof to another, finally alighting in Dobbs ferry, NY just North of Yonkers. To keep things from being too simple we not only did not have a car but we also had just spent all our resources on the looming wedding and honeymoon. I had a lot of stubborn Creole French pride to swallow as we had nothing to work with.
In addition we knew nothing about the state of any friends or family. The entire 504 area code was down as people everywhere tried to contact loved ones. It was two and half weeks before I even knew the whereabouts of some family and friends. I have not been through anything as grim. It was like being a 5th level PC facing a CR 25 threat, completely overwhelming.
This is where the ENnies come in. You see I got an email from Clueless, one of the other managers. Planewalker had just won it’s first Silver ENnie. In the grand scheme of the disaster it meant nothing. As the first slender ray of sunshine in the dark it was invaluable. At a time when it felt like everything was collapsing around me that moment of recognition for our team was a bit of a lifeline. It was, I believe, the first time I was able to smile after watching the city streets I grew up on submerged.
So, I would like to raise a toast to the ENnies team this year. It is only fair that you know how very much your hard work has meant in the past, and in a way you could never have conceived. Thanks, all of you. I wish I could make ti to GenCon to say it myself.
In which the gentleman in question (in the guise of Factor Evensong of the Dustmen) regales you with stories of the Slaadi, or Slaad, the froglike humanoids from the chaotic plane of Limbo.
I think this is nearing it’s final configuration, but I would love any input!
Firebrand of Murlynd (Divine / Combat)
Prerequisites: Exotic Weapon: Firearms, Must worship Murlynd or have gained his special favor
Benefit: Gunpowder and smokepowder weapons work normally for this character while on the planet Oerth in Greyspace. If not on Oerth but in a place where such weapons do not normally work this feat only has that effect if Murlynd has influence there. In all other circumstances where such weapons work, besides Oerth, the character gets +2 to hit.
Normal: Due to the edict of the Gods gunpowder and smokepowder weapons do not work once you have entered the atmosphere of Oerth.
