The first day is always an easy pace as people get their bearings and figure out what they want to see. Loki and Cormac arrived early on to scope things out and lay nefarious planes for today’s shenanigans.
Of course this being New Orleans the geekery takes on a whole different complexion, one infused by our long standing carnival and costuming traditions. Even with the relatively light crowds of opening day warriors of the Crescent City were present in their finery as the Krewe of Chewbacchus marched through the crowd.

I ran across this on Google+ and was immediately taken with the idea. Upon showing it to the wife, who received it with enthusiasm, we have decide to make one for the game room.

My wife and I are acing a sudden move due to the building we are in being sold. That means a lot of extra expense when we can least afford it. I’ve been thinking of cutting back on the DND 3.5 books for awhile now. I have tons of them. The two factors have come together in a fashion that I hope will make a lot of people happy.
I’ll be happy because I’m reclaiming space and getting closer to covering all the moving related expenses. You, I hope, will find something you’ve been looking for and get it at a good price. So please take a look at the list below. I’ll be updating it as things get claimed.
Thanks for helping us pull this off. If you’re ever in New Orleans you’ve got a home cooked meal coming!

The Spelljoined won Campaign of the Month last April on Obsidian Portal. That means we are in the running for Campaign of the Year, and voting ends on the 31st!
Being a bit of a narcissist I would love to win this purely for my own egotistic satisfaction, however there is more than that in the equation. You see, we have two brand new game artists on our team and their imagery is what really brings it all to life. Just read through the Journals and you’ll see some amazing illustration as well as some truly entertaining writing.
As the DM I am the overall architect of their fate, but as you can see from the journals we have hit on a really good streak of gaming at it’s best – collaborative storytelling. Even if my rules design doesn’t grab you their art and the fiction they’ve produced most assuredly will.
Check them out our artists’ galleries on Deviant Art:
- RavenKin did our logo and the more Manga looking artwork while
- Syreene did the majority of the illustrations found here and on Obsidian Portal.
It would be a great kick in the pants to see them get this sort of recognition.
Vote Here for The Spelljoined because we would all really appreciate it!
The Games and the development work will be on hiatus through the 21st, as we are relocating Planejammer World HQ back to its native land – New Orleans. Once we come back online there will be several new developments of interest (I hope):
- We will be continuing The Spelljoined campaign as a once a month virtual game run over Hangouts on Google+. Several of the players and I will be blogging here about our experiences as this will be new ground for all of us.
- The Ad Astra Per Arcana campaign will be taking over the regular Thurs night spot. Character generation will begin in Dec.
- The first annual Planejammer Cheesecake Calender (2012) will debut for the holiday season!
- Our Fantasy Space Netbook (Pathfinder compatible) should be finished and available though Beyond The Moons in the Spring.
- Work continues on adapting Planescape to Pathfinder…
How many of us know from our earliest memories what we want to be? And, how many of us are told from our earliest memories exactly who and how we will be? I’d be willing to bet most of us fall into the latter category; such was to be my path. I have since chosen otherwise, at a high and painful cost. I am an Aasimar, a distant descendant of some angelic creature who decided for what ever reason to entertain themselves with a mortal and left a lasting impression. The traits of such don’t always manifest in every generation it may skip a few and show up again randomly. Such was the case for my family. We had had a “chosen” one show up pretty consistently every generation until the last three which was beginning to cost us in our alliances and business dealings. Then after three brothers, I was born and my future began to be mapped by my parents, my community, everyone except me. I was not born with a simple mind or a contented spirit however, staying on this rock and being married off at 14 to secure some affine was not in my plans such as they were.
I don’t know when exactly my “plan” such as it was began to coalesce. I know that for my first 13 years I did as I was bade, mostly, as it seemed to be the best way to access the information I wanted that wasn’t deemed appropriate ie space travel and spellwork and knowledge. Fortunately, Graven, my eldest brother understood me and having also been bred for service to the family sympathized with my plight. It was he that taught me to read, got books or leaflets as he could, taught me to survive in the wilds and told me stories he heard in town and about where I wasn’t allowed to go. He was my window, my rock and my path to freedom, I just wish he’d been brave or foolhardy enough to come with me.Read More
My father told me stories of fighting the Anhur in the dunes… but I don’t think they’d compare to these strange wolf creatures that raided the Vistani camp. While some seemed normal enough, the two who changed and invaded the camp circle made my skin crawl. They must have been cursed by the gods if even their own appearance reflected their conflicted nature. Curses or no… they thankfully still died the same when impaled on the end of my claw.
I think I need to rest for a minute… my head is still fuzzy from the priest’s droning. Heh… I’d have thought I was still a kitten listening to the priests with the morning litany to Thoth if I wasn’t in the middle of a battle at the time.
I can’t believe he shot me! To be fair, though, I don’t think this Ef Utan has seen someone like me either. It’s a shame, as I had a small hope that someone not from my world might know of more like me. For whatever reason that his bow broke, it was nothing difficult to fix; I only hope that my repairs will improve his aim next time.
The priest keeps finding the pretty things… I wonder if she’ll let me see that strange token she found?
I can’t blame the Vistani for having enough of us; signs are signs, after all… and these werewolves didn’t come till we did.
I don’t see why Sepphira and Lenatta have to bicker so much; it seems common sense to me that we should head to this Borovia… it is the only town around here after all. Hopefully by first light they will have made a decision.Read More
